First Day (May Hip Kit)

Good evening!  The second to last layout I made with my May Hip Kit was a boy layout for Sam.  I've been making a really conscious effort to scrap him lately, because my love for girly products dominates the pages I make!

This page is about Sam's first day of school, and seriously this is the only photo I could get, because he didn't want any typical first day photos!  So I snuck into the classroom (luckily Shaun is his teacher) and I captured this shot of Sam setting up his desk!  He has a little half smile because he know's what I'm doing!

At first I wasn't sure about the thickers in this kit, but I ended up loving them!  The flair badge isn't from the kit, and is from Happy Scatter, and it was perfect because it probably was 9am when I took this photo.  I also added enamel dots, and I was so happy to use these ones up (finally!).

I loved layering up bits and pieces for this tag!  I love the whole green and blue on this page, and I made a real effort to include stamping.

You can watch my process below or on my YouTube Channel.

Thanks for looking!

Happy Scatter Guest Designer

Good morning on this rainy cold autumn day!  Today I'm super excited to share the layouts and video I made as a Guest Designer for Happy Scatter by Jennifer Grace.  Jennifer makes the most gorgeous stencils and embellishments for paper crafting and mixed media.  You can read the blog post here.

For my main layout (and video) I decided to use the embellishments with the Crate Paper Boys Rule collection (which is older), as it went perfectly with these photos of Sam with his Christmas Minecraft Pick Axe.

The cork embellishments had green elements on them, and were suitable for this boy page.

This cork bottle and flame reminded me of TNT and Sam blowing up his creations!  I also thought it reflected his excitement over his pick axe!

I coloured the wood veneers with Metallic Mint Gelato.

Here is my video:

I loved the goodies that I received so much that I had to make a second girly layout about Brielle and her cheeks!  I used the frames stencil in the background.  This layout originally had a white cardstock but I spilt India ink above my paper layers, and had to undergo some serious scrappy surgery!  I predominately used Dear Lizzy Polka Dot Party.

This flair was perfect for telling the story!

I loved pairing the flair with the wood veneer flowers.

You can find all of these goodies and even more over at the Happy Scatter Etsy shop here.  Thanks for looking and a huge thanks to Jennifer Grace for having me, I had a blast!

Happy Scatter Guest Designer!

Hello, yes it's been a while again!  I've been flat out with my new part time job, and busy creating layouts for Artfull Crafts (to be shared soon).

I'm so excited to announce that I am one of the three chosen guest designers over at Jennifer Grace Creates for her new venture "Happy Scatter".  You can find the introductory post on her blog here.

Jennifer has gorgeous products in her Etzy shop which you can find here.  She has some gorgeous products, including the following which were released in January.

She also released some new products in February so you should definitely head on over to her shop and check them out!

I can't wait to share what I create.  Check back in a few weeks!
