My Boy (Artfull Crafts)

Hello, hope you had a lovely long weekend here in New Zealand for labour day!  It was a weekend of rain, snow and eventually sunshine.

I'm up on the Artfull Crafts Blog today with another layout I made with Kaisercraft's Base Coat 3.  This is a different style of layout from me today, I totally let the products inspire me.

Have a blessed day!

Wild & Free (Paper Bakery)

Now that I'm feeling better I'm finally up to scrapping for myself, and not just having to scrap to meet design team commitments.  So I decided to play along with the latest Sketch Challenge #15 over at the Paper Bakery blog.  Here is the awesome sketch designed by Juliana Michaels:

I was keen to use one large photo on my layout, so I printed a Christmas photo from last December of my kids at our lake beach after Shaun and I had sung in a carol service.  We had fish & chips by the lake after the service.  I used my Art Fair September kit, which has to be my favourite kit of all so far.  It has the perfect mix of papers and embellishments from Glitz Design, Bella Blvd and My Minds Eye, as well as awesome exclusive stamps and flair.  I purchased the cardstock add on to stretch it even more.

Here is my take on the sketch, I loved it so much I didn't add much:

And a close up of my circles, which I cut on my Cuttlebug with a new die from Stampin' Up.  This was the first time I've used it so I was very excited!

Thanks for looking.  We're very happy here this weekend as its a long weekend in New Zealand!

Kaisercraft Base Coat 3 (Artfull Crafts)

Good morning!  I'm up on the Artfull Crafts Blog today with two projects that I made with Kaisercraft's new Base Coat 3.

Our October Challenge is In The Pink and you can find the details here. I decided to use this months sketch and theme and create a layout and a card.  This was a fun challenge because Base Coat 3 is quite a masculine themed or neutral product range. You can shop for the entire range in the shop here.

Here is this month's sketch:

Here is my layout:

I used some vanilla cardstock, and then searched through my stash for the perfect piece of pink patterned paper that would work with the tones in Base Coat 3.  This older piece from Jillibean Soup was perfect, its always good to cut into older hoarded papers!  I added a small piece of hot pink washi for something unexpected!

With my leftover scraps I decided to use the same sketch to make a quick card.

Thanks for looking, full details are on the Artfull Crafts blog.

Be Yourself (Lets Get Sketchy)

Hello!  Well I had a blast with this weeks sketch (designed by the very lovely Bev Code) over at Lets Get Sketchy, for two reasons really, one I am feeling better and now keen to scrap, and two I love that it enabled for large blocks of paper.  Here is the awesome sketch:

Instead of two photos, I went for an Instagram photo which I printed large.  It's a photo of me at Queenstown Winter Festival opening party, where my son's school sold glowing accessories.  I'm on the PTA and helped organise the stall.  It was so much fun as we were near the centre stage and able to hear all the fantastic music.

I used my September Paper Bakery kit which has a mix of yummy new product from Glitz Design, Bella Blvd and My Minds Eye.  This month I also purchased the Cardstock Add on which means that I can stretch my kit even more.  All I added were the pink Bella Blvd washi tape and the ink splatters.

I can't wait to see your take on this sketch.  Make sure you head over to the blog and check out what the awesome Design Team did.

Bless you

Scrapstuffz Hooray for Fall Blog Hop!

Hello hello and welcome to our first ever blog hop over at Scrapstuffz!!  You may have arrived here from Lyne's lovely blog, or you may have made your way here on your own.

For our blog hop we were given the following inspiration photo and sketch:

I was inspired by the Autumn images, and decided to apply that to my photo selection.  I chose to scrap a photo I took on my last mountain bike ride of the season, and although it was taken in February, the colours look like Autumn to me.

I started with drops of gold glitter, and then went from there.  I used the leftovers of a Paper Bakery kit, and I added the Pebbles title card and the washi tape.

Come and play along with us by simply doing the following:
1. Leave a comment on each blog along the hop.
2. Create a layout inspired by the photo and using the sketch, post it using our link up by NOV 1.
3. Be a follower of Scrapstuffz "Inspired by" Challenge blog.

Thanks for hopping along with us.  Your next stop is Adele's awesome blog.

Memories (Scrapstuffz)

Hello, due to not feeling well, I'm a bit late in revealing my October layout for Scrapstuffz "Inspired By" Challenge Blog on my blog.  It was revealed on the challenge blog on 12 October.  This month our inspiration was this lovely Autumn barn photo:

I was immediately inspired to use a wood grain background, so went through my stash and found this one from Crate Paper DIY Shop.  I wanted to scrap an Autumn photo, so selected this one of my kids and their cousins (yes again), but this page will go into Sam's album.  I've been loving using the Pebbles cards, and this one from the Family pad was perfect.  As I haven't been feeling well I kept this layout really simple, just clustered a doily, some DIY Shop die cuts and stickers, and some dark grey and white spray mist.  The heart washi from Glitz Design was the perfect finishing touch.  I'm really happy with how it turned out, especially as it was such a struggle to even scrap when I made it.

Thanks for looking, keep checking the Scrapstuffz blog as we have inspiration revealed each day from our very talented Design Team, and something special coming up this month.  Link up your layout showing how you were inspired to have a change to win our monthly prize.

Love (Use Your Words)

Hello, its with great sadness that I post my last layout for our last ever reveal over at Use Your Words challenge blog.  I've had a blast, and the layouts I've created over the last few months have been some of my favourite ever.

Our word for this last challenge is LOVE.  I decided to do a very girly layout, scrapping my daughter with her beloved soft toy "friends".

I used Kaisercraft's Tea Party Collection.  I started with some watercolours on the background, and inspired by Wilna Furstenberg in her Art Class, I let the paint run.  I love how it turned out.  Next I layered my paper layers under my photo, then clustered some die cuts around it.  A title, navy ink splatters to anchor my layout, my journaling, and I was done.

Make sure you head over the the blog and see for one last time how my awesome design team members were inspired.  Play along and link up your layout for one last chance to win.

Thanks for joining us at Use Your Words, its been truly awesome!  If you like my art please follow my blog :)

Family (Use Your Words)

Hello again!  Our challenge word over at Use Your Words is FAMILY.  I decided to scrap some more photos of my kids playing with their cousins.  Its great to scrap multiple photos so that I can place them in each of the kids albums, and my family album.  I used Crate Paper's Fourteen collection.

I can't wait to see how this fortnights word inspires you.

Fall Card (Lets Get Sketchy)

Hi everyone, due to still feeling unwell I'm late with my blog posts this week.  Over at Lets Get Sketchy we had a 5th Monday in September, so our challenge this week was a Fall (Autumn) or Halloween card.  As our family is not into Halloween here, I decided to make a card inspired by Autumn.

I used Autumn inspired colours to make this good luck card.  I used leftovers from a Paper Bakery Kit.

I can't wait to see what cards you make!
