Clique Kits September Blog Share

Hello and welcome to my blog!  Its time for the September Pep Rally with the gorgeous Moon Child kit.  This is my last DT duty with Clique Kits, and I want to say I've loved my term and have had so much fun creating with their amazing kits!  I'll miss the leadership team and the other girls on the DT.

Here is a look at the kit, featuring Pretty Little Studio, Kaisercraft, Kesi Art, Fancy Pants, Dear Lizzy and my favourite exclusive paper designed by Nicole.

We had a challenge theme this month to design a project about someone we "Love to the Moon & Back".  At first I was going to scrap my husband, but I didn't have a recent suitable photo, and to make matters more difficult my printer is currently broken.  So I scrapped our three kids holding the 12 week scan photo of our new baby arriving in November.  This page is an 8x8 layout for my 2016 Grateful Album (which I'm very behind on due to pregnancy related illness).

I also made this layout about my adventures in adult ballet lessons.  The fussy cut flower is from the packaging of the Pretty Little Studio tiny words,  and I was delighted to discover it when the word sheet came off.  I really wanted to focus on the exclusive "Dream" cut file.

I also made a mini album about my son's trip to Hobbiton (The Hobbit was filmed in the North Island of New Zealand), but due to having the flu and hyperemesis I wasn't able to finish it in time.  My plan is to finish it and share it on my blog and YouTube channel as soon as I'm done.

Here is the line up for the blog share.

Sweet Sisters (Lets Get Sketchy)

Hi again!  I'm back today with my take on the last weeks sketch reveal over at Lets Get Sketchy.  I'm really late posting this due to illness (yes pregnancy related again!).  Yes I made another girly layout with Crate Paper's "Cut Girl" collection!  I scrapped another photo of Azaria and Brielle, and whilst its not the best photo in the world, I just love the moment I captured!  I loved all the layers on this sketch!

The Sweet Sisters puffy stickers were perfect for my title.

I loved using the cat rubber charm, it reminds me of Brielle who calls cats "Meows"!

The Teepees have nothing to do with this page, but I just had to use them!

And here is the sketch.

Thanks for looking!  Make sure you link up your layout and play along.

Fantastic Food (The Cut Shoppe DT)

Hello!  I'm up on The Cut Shoppe Blog today with my second layout for the month.  And yes its another girly page!!  I have bits and pieces from three new collections and they are all very girly, so hence I'm scrapping my girls.

I used the Foodgram cut file and made my own background with two of the words, which I replicated and arranged.  I used Paige Evans' "Take Me Away" collection by Pink Paislee.  The background paper with three blocks of colour was the perfect background.

A close up of my journaling!  Brielle calls breakfast "breaksie", which is really the memory and story I wanted to document on this layout.  I took these photos especially because the things our kids say are just as important.

For my title I used the "fantastic" from the chipboard elements, and "food is made from one of the positive cuts.  I trimmed off the "#" and coloured the word with my water colours.

Here is the cut file, which you can purchase in the Etsy Store here.

Our Happy Home (Fancy Pants)

Hello!  Its Friday again, and today I'm 30 weeks pregnant, let the 10 week countdown begin!  Today I'm sharing a layout I made with a free cut file from Fancy Pants Designs, designed by Kim Watson.  Its called Shadow Box House, and was designed based on a doll house.  When I saw it on Instagram I knew I had to use it and play!

Of course I had to use my Clique Kit featuring the "Millie & June" collection by Fancy Fants.  This kit also features Cocoa Vanilla Studio's "Colour Me Happy" collection.  I scrapped this photo of my three kids holding the 12 week scan photo of our 4th baby!  I used my Silhouette Cameo to sketch the lines for the and stitching, and then I did offset of the internal parts I wanted cut, and cut them out.

Embellishing inside the house was lots of fun!

The small rectangle was the perfect place for the date.

I was a bit concerned about hand stitching the title because the lines were very close, but thankfully it all worked out!

And here is the amazing cut file, which you can download from the Fancy Pants Blog here.

I made a process video for this one.

Wild (Sizzix)

Hello!  Yay its Friday in my part of the world!  Today I have a layout to share with you that I made for Sizzix UK.  I used the Tim Holtz Bigz Die called Garden Greens, and I used a sketch by Laura Rumble of Beads Buttons & Birds.  Laura posted this sketch on Instagram and as soon as I saw it I knew it was perfect for the Garden Greens die!  I used the Take me Away Collection by Paige Evans and Pink Paislee.

I love the Thicker words that come with this collection, so perfect for this photo of our three kids at the Lake.

I kept the embellishment on the leaves with buttons from Take me Away, heats and sequins from my stash.

And here is the gorgeous sketch!

You can purchase the Garden Green Die here.

Have an awesome weekend!

Loveliness (Clique Kits)

Hello again!  Today I have a layout that I made with a free cut file that Clique Kits is offering as a sponsor of Creative Scrappers.  Its an Autumn wreath, but I used it for a Summer photo of Azaria.  I used the June Clique Kit "La Dolce Vita" featuring Elle's Studio "Little Moments" collection.

I started by cutting the wreath on white American Crafts cardstock (my favourite), and then backed the cut file with predominantly 6x6 papers from the kit.  I choose to use the textured side of the cardstock on the cut file for a change.  Once it was backed I machine stitched through it twice, and then adhered it with scrap chipboard for dimension.  Then came the fun part of using my watercolours and the packaging technique, and then embellishing.

The glitter sticker title is from Pink Fresh Studio.

I fussy cut out lots of the exclusive cards from the kit to use as embellishments.

I added some darker elements with the Elle's Studio stamp that was an add-on to the kit, and I finished it off with black Heidi Swapp Colourshine splatters.

And here is the cut file, which you can get for free here.

Cute (Lets Get Sketchy)

Good morning!!  As its September we have another new sketch reveal over at Lets Get Sketchy, with another fabulous sketch by Brenshevia.  I used the Cute Girl collection by Crate Paper again, I'm in love with it for scrapping my girls!  The cute file is a base for a Christmas Wreath and came with the exclusive Christmas Kit in 2015 from Clique Kits.

And here is the sketch, this one is very simple with lots of white space.

8, 7, 2 Go (The Cut Shoppe)

Hello from Spring here in New Zealand!!! Yay I'm so looking forward to warm temperatures and longer lighter days!  Yesterday I was up on The Cut Shoppe Blog with a new layout!  For this one I just had to use my newly purchased "Cute Girl" collection by Crate Paper and scrap a really sweet photo of Brielle to document her starting home-based care in July!  Of course I had to add hand stitching to the star cut file!

The "8, 7, 2" is what she says whenever she is counting, and she adds the "Go" on the end if she is playing.  I just had to use it as a title because I love to document and record what my kids say too!

I used the Strings Attached and Brush Up Alpha which you can purchase from the Etsy Store (follow those links).  Both files are amazing and there are so many options.  I only used one of the 4 designs in the Strings Attached file.

Here are the cut files:

You can see more close ups and more details on the story behind the layout on the blog here.

Two More "Rio" Layouts (Clique Kits DT)

Hello!  I'm back today with two more layouts that I created with the gorgeous August Clique Kit "Rio".  For these ones I did hours of hand stitching, and then used my new Close to My Heart watercolours on one.

The first layout is a photo of Azaria that I took on New Years Day.  I enlarged one of the exclusive cut file flowers, and repositioned it on the Silhouette software by rotating it to provide a place for my photo.  After I stitched it I painted it, and then cut it out.  This enabled me to position my photo above one of the petals and under two of the leaves.  I kept embellishment very simple to focus on the photo and the flower.

I made a process video.

For my second layout I used another one of the exclusive cut file and hand stitched it in monochromatic pink tones to match Brielle's top.  I love how this one turned out too, which is a relief because it literally took me hours to stitch!  If you saw my mini album, this photo was the final favourite photo that I was after, and of course it deserved its own page in her album!

I made a process video for this one too.
