Clique Kits September Blog Share

Hello and welcome to my blog!  Its time for the September Pep Rally with the gorgeous Moon Child kit.  This is my last DT duty with Clique Kits, and I want to say I've loved my term and have had so much fun creating with their amazing kits!  I'll miss the leadership team and the other girls on the DT.

Here is a look at the kit, featuring Pretty Little Studio, Kaisercraft, Kesi Art, Fancy Pants, Dear Lizzy and my favourite exclusive paper designed by Nicole.

We had a challenge theme this month to design a project about someone we "Love to the Moon & Back".  At first I was going to scrap my husband, but I didn't have a recent suitable photo, and to make matters more difficult my printer is currently broken.  So I scrapped our three kids holding the 12 week scan photo of our new baby arriving in November.  This page is an 8x8 layout for my 2016 Grateful Album (which I'm very behind on due to pregnancy related illness).

I also made this layout about my adventures in adult ballet lessons.  The fussy cut flower is from the packaging of the Pretty Little Studio tiny words,  and I was delighted to discover it when the word sheet came off.  I really wanted to focus on the exclusive "Dream" cut file.

I also made a mini album about my son's trip to Hobbiton (The Hobbit was filmed in the North Island of New Zealand), but due to having the flu and hyperemesis I wasn't able to finish it in time.  My plan is to finish it and share it on my blog and YouTube channel as soon as I'm done.

Here is the line up for the blog share.

Clique Kits August Blog Share

Hello!  I'm so excited to be participating in the Clique Kits Pep Rally for August!  You probably made your way here from Caroli's amazing blog!

I just adore the August kit Rio, it features the gorgeous "Milly & June" collection by Fancy Pants, and the "Colour me Happy" collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio.  The colours are amazing, and the embellishments so perfect for scrapping the girls in your life (or yourself!).  Here is  a look at the kit.

I was reluctant to cut into the paper to start with, because I wanted to use everything and really didn't know where to start.  I got the Milly & June 6x6 paper pad which was perfect with the scaled down patterns.

The first layout I made was this one of Brielle, which I've already shared in a process video.  You can watch the video on my YouTube channel here.  I focussed on my favourite papers for this one, and I just love that Cocoa Vanilla cut apart.

For my next layouts I wanted to make an effort to scrap multiple photos, because I'm aware that lots of discussions in Facebook Groups have centred around the fact that people like to see these layouts.  My layouts are almost always created around the story I want to tell, and if I have more than one photo its a bonus!

The first layout is about Azaria playing in our family Nerf wars last summer!  I also wanted to make an effort not to use my Silhouette Cameo for this page, and I even went old school with a corner punched heart in my top right triangle!

This next layout has 4 photos of Sam playing with Brielle, and features the Cocoa Vanilla Studio products only.  The flair is a CK exclusive.

My final project is an accordion style mini album about the photos I have to take before I can capture a good photo of Brielle.  I just love the outtakes!!

I kept my cover very simple with an exclusive acrylic strawberry (an add-on to the kit), one of the CK cut aparts, Fancy Pants letter stickers and navy ribbon from my stash.

The pages that follow include patterned paper from the 6x6 paper pad, and and embellishments from the kit.  This page has a small amount of journalling to tell the story of the album.

For the back page I kept it free of photos and used the bolder heart print paper.

These next pages are the first pages of the other side of the accordion.

My final two pages are progressing towards the photo that I wanted, a happy smiley girl!

A shot of the back side of the accordion.

I had so much fun making all of these projects, and I still have so much of my kit left over to keep creating!

Clique Kits May Blog Share!

Hello and welcome to our May Clique Kits Blog Share, you may have come here from Maryam's gorgeous blog or arrived on your own!  I love our blog shares, and was sad to miss last month due to illness.  This month we're sharing projects we made with our May "Northern Lights" kit featuring Fancy Pants' "Attwell" and Basic Grey's "Urban Luxe" collections.

Here is another look at the lovely kit.

I made two layouts for this share, and amazingly both are about my son Sam (age 9).  The first one is about going to see the new Star Wars movie last December.  He was so excited, and even though this photo is in my December Daily, it needed page in Sam's album too!  I used a cut file from The Cut Shoppe, and the Happy Day frame was perfect for a title.    My design is lie a loose grid, once I got my photo and title down I just embellished around with pieces of ephemera until I was happy!

My second layout is about our holiday to Christchurch last July, and this photo was taken at the Orana Wildlife Park.  I just had to use that Fancy Pants corrugated paper as a full background, it was a case of hoard it or use it!  I love the way it plays off the wooden posts and sticks on the bridge.   I fussy cut some leaves out of one of the patterned papers, and really made a feature of the "charming" cut apart card.  I kept my embellishment very simple on this one.

Clique Kits March Blog Share (Clique Kits DT)

Hello!  Welcome from the lovely and talented Erica's blog!  Its one of my favourite times of the month, which is the Clique Kits Pep Rally blog share!  I love it because we get to see all the gorgeous projects the design team and The Clique have created with the latest kit!

This month we played with the amazing "Goldie" collection by Ashley Goldberg for Studio Calico's Seven Paper, and our "Hell Yeah" kit featured lots of lovely exclusives such a papers (yay!!), ephemera, and flair.

I decided to do something a little bit different with my kit this month.  In case you're wondering why I haven't shared much, its because I took my kit to a weekend crop with my friend. We scrapped Friday night, Saturday morning, and Saturday evening.  I decided to see how many layouts I could make with my kit.  I made a total of 5 layouts, which is a lot for me because I'm very slow at a crop (I get distracted with chatting, snacking, cups of tea and coffee, and looking at other people work and their supplies!).

Firstly I need to explain that my photos are not the best quality, I've had sick kids since Saturday, and just got home from the hospital with my oldest.  We're on standby to take him to the base hospital of our region (2 hours away).  I still wanted to share these though, and as its night time now, I'll retake these photos in the morning.

I was feeling in a mixed media mood, and decided to push myself with my layouts.  The first layout features the beautiful pink polka dot paper, and I did some of the packaging technique with my gelatos, and did a grid style layout with my favourite cut apart card.

For my next three layouts I wanted to use the background cut file in three different ways.  I cut it smaller than the entire 12x12 so I could use it as a stencil.  For my first layout I used texture paste and gold mist.  The layout is about visiting the New Zealand scrapbook shop I used to design for.

I made a pocket behind the layout with the glassine bag, and tucked my second photo into it.

For my second layout I used some gold acrylic paint with the cut file, and the photos are of Azaria when she was about 2, before and during being in timeout!  I just adored the exclusive CK papers in the kit, and this one just had to be used for mixed media!

My third layout with the cut file is about Sam and features a lot of layers!  I actually spilt the teal colour shine on my layout while I was creating it, but I soaked it up with a paper towel and carried on!  For this one I used the actual cut file as a layering piece.

My final layout features an Instagram photo of Azaria's first family picture that she drew.  I still need to find the date of this photo and add it to my layout.  Instead of leaving the white quadrant of the paper plain, I added the stripped piece.  This layout is very simple, and I added the journalling lines with teal embroidery thread.

Clique Kits February Pep Rally

Hello!  Welcome to the February Clique Kits Blog Share! You would have come here from Erica's beautiful blog, and if you didn't make sure you start at the Clique Kits blog so you don't miss out on any inspiration.

I'm so excited because today we're sharing projects made with the gorgeous February Clique Kit "Hot Mess" featuring the Shine collection by Maggie Holmes for Crate Paper, and of course amazing exclusives designed to coordinate.

I've been working though this kit very solidly throughout the month, and being on blog duty certainly helped!  I made two layouts for this blog share, and for the first one I wanted to focus on using one of the Just Nick exclusive cut files I hadn't used yet.  My layout is about my sister who visited us in 2012 (she lives in London).

I still have lots of the zebra ribbon left, so loved adding some to the chipboard tag.

I added the XOXO cut file onto the bottom left corner of my layout.

My second layout is about Brielle on her first birthday, and when I saw the calendar paper I knew I had to use it for this page.  I started with backing some parts of the heart die cut with papers and sequins, and then built my design around the frame photo.

I popped up the chipboard banner on pop dots for extra dimension.

I cut the April card from the 6x6 paper pad, and the pink splatters are the mini Hot Pink Colour Shine I got in my kit.

Of course I had to use the crown for my princess!

Clique Kits January Blog Share

Hello and welcome to my bog!  Today is the monthly Clique Kits Pep Rally blog share where we hop along and look at all the goodness created with the latest kit, January's "Alegria".

I have to say I've loved working with Alegria, and I still have some more leftover to create with!  Here is another look at the beautiful kit featuring Fancy Pants' "Happy Place" collection by the amazing Kim Watson.

I have two layouts to share with you today.  My first one features the background confetti cut file, and when I first started backing it with the 6x6 paper pad I had no idea what photo to scrap.  I have several older Instagram photos that I've been scrapping my way though slowly, and I decided the photo of Sam having a swimming lesson was perfect - with the confetti looking like bubbles.

Here is a close up of some of my 'bubbles".  It was a labour of love, but I enjoyed the process of backing all the holes.  My advice to you is this: always buy the 6x6 paper pad add-on, the scaled down patterns are amazing to create with, and its a bonus to get all of the paper in a collection.

My second layout features me, and its a selfie I took the day before our third baby was born.  I knew I had to keep that text paper as a full background, and it was begging for water colours to be splattered all over it!  I painted the wood grain camera with yellow acrylic paint.  I thought the "lets take a nap" card was perfect for the last day before Brielle's arrival!

The "Live Boldly" is one of the printables which I enlarged to be my title.  I thought the title was perfect because I had to have a scheduled C-Section with my third, and didn't want to.  I had to be bold and follow the advice of the doctors.

I loved using up some of the tags, this one was perfect for my journalling!

Clique Kits December Blog Share

Hello and welcome from from Sandy's amazing blog!  I'm so happy to be joining in on the blog share this month!  I just love hopping from blog to blog to see what everyone created with their kits!

This month we created with the gorgeous and fun "Girl Cave" kit.

Here is another look at the kit, which featured Pink Paislee's Memorandum collection.

Of course I had to create one layout about being creative, and when I saw the "Create" gold glitter word, I decided to use it to document being on the CK Design Team.  I made a pocket and tucked the acceptance email and my journalling into it.  I printed off the photo of the DT and my own photo to use on my page.

For this next page I decided to focus on the gorgeous red pieces in the kit, and then I selected a photo to match.  This photo is of my friend and I on her wedding day.  I was blessed and honoured to sing as she walked up the aisle and signed the register.  I knew I wanted to create in a grid style, so just added pieces until I was happy!  The gold sequin trim is from my stash, and the die cut flower is from the Clique Kits store, and is by Kesi Art.

Clique Kits November Blog Share

Hello!  I'm so excited to be joining in on the blog share this month, and you would have arrived from the very talented LeeAnn's blog! I love the Tapestry Kit so much, it featured We R Memory Keepers Wildflowers collection, and I also got some of the Pink Paislee Cedar Lane add-ons.  I'm still creating with this kit, but today I wanted to share two layouts.

The first layout is one that I made in an effort to just go with the flow, but also scrap quickly.  I knew I wanted to scrap this photo of Azaria and I, and I also knew I wanted to use the "love" card and the "notes" cut apart.  So my layout just flowed from there!  I also did something shocking, and used the butterfly paper as my frame!!!  I gutted out the middle first!

My title was built very easily with the Dear Lizzy puffy thickers incorporating the card.  I used a knife to cut out part of the black circle, then tucked my photo under.

I loved adding machine stitching, a doily from my stash, feathers that I cut out and sprayed with Colour Shine, and of course stickers.

My second layout features Sam during his first week of school ever (in 2012).  I recently printed this photo of him in the Autumn leaves, and decided to make a layout using the Cedar Lane products.  I used two leave dies and my Cuttlebug, and I love that they are embossed too. The gold elements don't seem to photograph very well, but the "Love You" is gold print on acetate.

I cut the leaves from the Cedar Lane 6x6 paper pad, and I made sure I choose a majority of simple patterns.  Sam loves that I tucked the fox in there too!

The gold elements don't seem to photograph very well, but the "Love You" is gold print on acetate.

I videoed these layouts too, so will have process videos up on my YouTube channel very soon :)

Your next stop is Charity's lovely blog.
